Manages a team of Asset Based Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts who are responsible for a portfolio of approximately fifty asset based credits.  The portfolio ranges from straightforward credits to complex credits with complicated corporate structures including those with large exposures in complicated and/or specialized industries.  

The team leader is responsible for ensuring overall portfolio and asset quality remains strong and insures direct reports are appropriately assessing and managing risk within assigned portfolio as well as complying with bank credit risk and credit risk administration policies and procedures.  Team leader insures all PM credit submissions meet appropriate standards and PM written and oral presentations made to senior management and credit partners are accurate, thoughtful and appropriate. Insures team has a working knowledge of credit policy and procedures and any changes thereto.  Team leader insures negative trends within assigned portfolio are properly identified and communicated to both division senior management as well as credit partners, and also develops and implements appropriate action to mitigate risk.  Team leader insures portfolio and work load is fairly and appropriately assigned amongst direct reports.  Insures satisfactory ratings in terms of assigned portfolio by Credit Quality Assurance and/or Group Internal Audit. 

In addition to oversight of credit risk and credit risk administration for assigned portfolio, is responsible for driving cross sell revenue within assigned portfolio.  Insures PMs meet cross sell goals both for traditional bank products as well as capital markets products via identifying potential need within assigned portfolio, actively meeting client senior management and insuring access by bank product partners to client senior management. 

Appropriate manages team including training, motivating and retaining direct reports.  Identifies strengths and weaknesses and actively works with direct reports to address weaknesses.  Takes corrective action with respect to performance issues if appropriate.  Actively manages change and insures team navigates through change appropriately.

Develops working knowledge of and relationship with all clients within assigned portfolio.  Insures client needs are met in a timely and appropriate manger.  Interacts at high levels within organization including Division Executive, Senior Credit Officers, Global Restructuring Group, Capital Markets, and Credit Quality Assurance.  



10 plus years of commercial banking experience including asset based lending. 

Previous experience with upper middle market and mid corporate borrowers is essential.  Previous management experience, problem loan management, and ABL or commercial sales experience are all preferred.

Exhibits strong level of knowledge of asset based lending, credit risk assessment and mitigation, credit risk administration, and commercial sales. 

Detail oriented. 

Skilled at maintaining good communication across business unit and broader organization.  Skilled at developing and implementing both strategic and tactical solutions and systems in support of portfolio administration and business unit goals and objectives.

Experience in managing direct reports both on a day to day basis as well as long term in order to facilitate best in class performance by assigned team. 

Word, Excel, Power Point, spread sheet modeling, and presentation development and delivery skills. 

Advanced knowledge of different financial modeling systems and ability to coach others on use of internal systems that may include Moody’s, RARCR, ORA, and FACT.
