Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will function as a Senior Teradata Logical Data Architect, participating in the design and implementation of Teradata FSLDM that can support the ongoing company growth. The successful candidate should have the combination of education and experience that provides the basis for delivering the necessary job functions, skills, and knowledge as described in this job description.
Architecting and implementing high quality Data Warehouse solutions using company approved platforms such as Teradata. Must be aware of migration and implementation plans that address both tactical and strategic needs. Define and govern Teradata FSLDM logical model and data warehouse best practices and standards to include software development practices, design styles and software deployment. Analyze technologies, technical processes and/or functions, document findings, identify areas for improvement and create specifications and implement. Provide strategic direction to the organization by creating reference architectures and defining governance for the overall Teradata deployment strategy. Mentor other team members on new and existing technologies and help guide the Teradata development process. Design and normalize the logical data model to third normal form. Facilitate the discovery of entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules from the functional experts and the user community. Develop and manage data models and associated metadata for the enterprise. Recommend and establish standards, guidelines, and procedures for design and maintenance.

 

Qualifications

Expert knowledge of Teradata Architecture Expert knowledge of Teradata FSLDM Expert knowledge of data warehouse and relational data modeling design Expert knowledge of Erwin tool Experience with Data Analysis and Data Profiling Experience with Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 UDB and DB2 Mainframe. Knowledge of Banking and Financial Services Knowledge of ETL and Business Intelligence Ability to write clear documentation of procedures, and ability to write specifications for data models to be developed. Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development. Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices. A minimum of 7 years experience providing data modeling architecture/administration/development in a Fortune 500 company. 3-5 years of experience with Teradata FSLDM & Data Warehousing Additional 3-5 years working in another role within a data warehouse team, such as business/data analyst, quality assurance analyst, or ETL developer.  Experience with SAS Business Intelligence and/or Oracle Business Intelligence is a BIG plus B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or Electrical Engineering or a related quantitative discipline. Graduate degree in Business, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline is a BIG plus. Personal skills: Possess a strong work ethic, self-starter, creative, a focus on customer service, possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, have strong oral and written communication and people skills, team player, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task, commitment and appreciate the application of technology in support of our business. Banking or financial reporting experience helpful.

Hours per Week:   40

Work Schedule:    Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
